Game Changer: North German company develops world's
first High-Tech mask against viruses
Hanstedt/Nordheide, 20th Jan 2021
EYEBLINKER, the development office for physical and technical processes and devices has made its business to support companies in the research & development of innovative products and to lead them to patent maturity.
The team around biophysicist Dr. Berthold W. Seemann has now developed the "Intelli Active Mask" successfully, the world's first respirator for the reliable inactivation of viruses and germs inclusive their mutations in complementation with the filtration of particles from the breathing air.
In the last 15 years, the increasing incidence of pandemics has led to unprecedented pressure on national healthcare systems, the massive collapse of the global economy and significant social and political tensions.
Depending on the design the half masks available on the market do not protect wearers and contacts from infections with viruses and germs, or only to a limited extent, as these are at best only filtered but not destroyed.
The reusable "Intelli Active Mask", on the other hand, inactivates completely and destroys viruses and germs inclusive their mutations.
The core of the mask is a powerful UVC light module that is completely encapsulated, equally completely safe for the wearer. The viruses contained in the inhaled breath are directed into the UVC module.
Because the mechanism of action of the intense irradiation is primarily directed to the nuclear, the germicidal effect is retained, even in the event of mutations. The samples sent in by the Eyeblinker development office were examined and evaluated at the Hohenstein Institute. The lethal effect could be determined with an effectiveness of 97.99%.
Accordingly, the "Intelli Active Mask" protects not only against currently emerging viruses, such as the SARS-CoV-2 virus, but also against future viruses and mutations.
Breath-controlled energy management means that high energy is only consumed during inhalation. This means that when the integrated lithium-ion batteries are fully charged, the mask can be used for up to 10 hours in continuous operation.
Correct fit and function are monitored via an optical display.

To keep the operation of the "Intelli Active Mask" as simple as possible, there is no switch. The mask turns on automatically a few seconds after it is put on and deactivates itself after removal.
A special seal makes this mask suitable for beards. The complementary FFP2 or FFP3 filter pads can be changed within seconds. As a result, the "Intelli Active Mask" protects the wearer not only from viruses and germs, but also from particles in the breathed air, such as dust, pollen, smoke, mold, and more.
There are patent pendings for the "Intelli Active Mask" in several countries. The patent for Germany was recently registered. Manufacturing licenses can be granted to interested companies.
Notes for the enclosed photos: These pictures show a model for checking the technical function and germicidal effectiveness and a model for a possible embodiment. Final designs of a mask are determined by the manufacturing company.
